Jack Olsen | Cpt Jack Olsen Jack Olsen joined the service in August 1942, and as an air cadet went for pilot training. Gaining his wings, he was posted to join the 475th Fighter Group flying P-38 Lightnings in the Pacific. Assigned to the 431st Fighter Squadron, Jack undertook the first of his 105 combat missions in August 1944, seven of which he flew as flight commander. He stayed in the service for a short while after the war, retiring as a Captain in 1950. |
