Clipped Signature - Sir John Barraclough. Served with 209, 240 and 269 Squadrons flying maritime-air duties from 1938. After various command roles overseas he returned to the UK as Chief Instructor at the Flying Boat OTU. He served in five operational Commands in his career and was Vice Chief of Defence Staff, flying over 70 different aircraft including the first single-engine jet flight from South Africa to the UK. He died in 2008. |
